Friday, August 26th - Evening update

As Kimmy posted earlier, Mama has had a tough day of pain. The transition from IV pain meds to the oral meds didn't go smoothly. She has been very flush, hot and for part of the day has had just a slight fever. Nothing seriously high though. It took quite some time to get her pain under control. In order to get it controlled, she was given a few rounds of larger doses of meds. Unfortunately it made her so rummy that she could barely stay awake to even think what number (0 to 10) her pain was at and then tell us. Not good......but better than a pain level of 9. This evening she is doing much better. She is sleeping most of the time, but for now thats ok. The advantage to the oral meds is that they last longer and if she falls asleep with a pain pump and doesn't keep pumping it, she risks getting behind in her pain. Hopefully from here on out they can keep her pain management better controlled. Thank you for your continued prayers.
With love,
Carmen & family

Dear Carmen:
Thank you so much for informing us
about your mom. We love her dearly
and will be so glad when this
horrible nightmare will end. Even
through the suffering we see signs
that God is working and we must keep trusting Him for her healing.
Kim's comment touched me deeply when she wrote about the 5 month
vigil for Brittan and today we can
look back on it and see God's hand.
While this suffering seems forever
it will pass. God is exercizing me
greatly to think of those in hell who have no hope of an end to their
torment. It causes me to want to cry out to them and warn them. We
love you guys and pray for God's
mercy and healing on every
remberance. Uncle Dino

Good Morning,
I hope you have a better day. I told you the story my doctor told me..the 1st 7 weeks, I would hate him. But, even this gave me a set goal. I knew I could bear anything, as long as I new that by this date, I would feel better. I hope you can ask your doctor the same. It does really help.
God will bring healing. I know how very strong you are. I will pray that your pain is diminished soon.
Love,
Cindy R.

Dear Cousin Deva,
Hi there my sweet, wonderful Cousin
Deva. I certain hope that your pain has turned around, and that you are now feeling much less pain than you were prior to this? Do you believe that there is any chance at all of you being well enough to attend the Family Gathering on Sep 17th? If not, and if you are home at that time and capable of receiving guests; my gang and I would certainly like to
stop by the Dahlin Spread for a short period of time and say, "Hello," to you? Before our stopping in on you we will give you a phone call to make sure that everything is copasetic. My dear Cousin Deva, please continue taking the very best care of yourself possible; God bless you and your wonderful family, your poor old Cousin John really does love you a big old bunch, and will continue praying that the Good Lord will use His almighty powers to soon completely heal you from your sickness with cancer!
Cousin John
