Here is the latest:
Mom is back from surgery. The never could get in an iv, even using ultrasound. They did the procedure without using the iv meds, she only had local anesthesia. They went in through her jugular vein in her neck and not the groin.
They want to start a pic line (a longer lasting iv than a typical line) so the prayer now is that they will be able to get that in without multiple tries. Otherwise the filter is in.

My name is Jonathan Hecht. I'm the eldest son of Karl and Candace Hecht in Dallas, TX. Candace is Ladeva's cousin.
I heard about Ladeva from my mother and wanted to let you know that you and your mother are in my prayers.
I also wanted to let you know I'm a ICU Nurse and Nursing Educator at a large urban hospital in Austin, TX. I can imagine how difficult this time must be with healthcare being so complex with diagnosis, technologies, and the constant barrage of abbreviations. I just would like y'all to know that if you have any questions about anything medically related, you are more than welcome to e-mail me, JHecht@seton.org, and I will do my best to find a good and thorough explanation for you.
I plan on keeping up with how Ladeva's and the family are doing. My prayers are with y'all.
