Great Saturday

Saturday May 31, 2008

I’m sorry this is getting typed on Sunday morning. (about midnight)
I wanted to have it done earlier in the day but have had so much trouble getting our internet to cooperate all day.

I spoke with Mom around noon (Saturday). She was perky and happily reported that she has slept ELEVEN hours!!
I’m pretty sure Mom hasn’t slept eleven hours in a couple of decades, but not more than 4 in a row in over 9 months.
This was a huge blessing. She said she only woke up long enough to take the meds Dad brought her and was able to fall right back asleep again. Mom has had difficulty sleeping through the night for years. It was so frustrating when she was still working for PCLI and could not fall back asleep again after 3:00AM etc.

She had some nausea in the morning and yet was able to drink the Carnation instant breakfast shake Dad made her and some eggs. I spoke with her again late afternoon and she was sitting on her deck with Dad and my Aunt Edna (Mom’s sis) having some soup. She said she felt like she had more energy today than Friday and didn’t really have much nausea either. Her mouth is starting to hurt like it did with her last round, so I would ask you to keep that in your prayers please.

I will get an update again in the morning and hopefully get it up before midnight.

We felt so encouraged that Mom was having a good day. It has been too long since she has had one of those.
Thank you for your prayers for her. I am relieved to have such a positive day to report.

God bless,
Kimberly

Just one quick comment. A friend of ours here in Poulsbo told us that when he was going through chemo and his mouth got sore that he took chipped ice and held it in his mouth. Now, I can only tell you what he said but he did say it helped.
Love you a lot sweet girl and so glad Edna was able to spend time with you. I wish my sisters and I lived closer together.
Oh Donna, we still have the record that (Eddie) made around here somewhere. I pulled it out and played for our kids once and they could hardly believe it was their dad. I'm surprised that at your young age, you could remember that.
Love you all,
Ed and Ruby

Hi Deva and Warren,
What a beautiful day for all. That DJ and the races. Isn't she a hoot? I just could imagine Eddie would be the first to be sitting on your porch with you--eating soup? You guys really know how to party, ha. Don and Barb left Artesia Saturday at 6:00 AM so this is the end of their second day home. They'll get there tomorrow. They will have been gone about a month. Know they will be glad to be back in their own bed, ha. They have had quite a good time. The price of gas will slap them in the face next month---bummer. I'll bet they will be to see you Dee as soon as they are allowed to come. Hope the imunity thing is ok at this time. It's dry dry dry here. Filling the rest of the pool tonight and will shock it tomorrow after vaccumng it. Wish you were here to go in with us. Just talked to Krystl and she and Kaleb were at a baseball game and lovin' it. Va and I will be thinking of you all week. We talked about you and the bunch today. Love you and hope to see you sometime this next year or two. Loving you in prayer. God bless.
