I am sorry I couldn't get an update posted last night like I wanted to but here is the latest.
Saturday was relatively speaking a better day. Mom did have dry heaves 3 different times which is always painful, but she was able to eat a bit more and drink more than she has.
As always, her biggest nemesis is still the nausea. It is unrelenting but then again, so are our prayers. So it doesn't really have a chance in the long run.
Saturday morning Dr. Pillarisetty came in and talked with mom about her drinking. ( Not her "drinking", but fluid intake. :)
Water has been tasting like metal since the surgery and she was just hating to drink it but being as determined as she is she was puching through it even being so nauseous. He suggested she try warm water in stead of the ice water the nurses bring in. So, starting yesterday dad would get water from the instant hot and add some cool water from the dispenser and viola! It was easier for her to drink and didn't taste as bad. She had some food throughout the day so it was all in all an improvement.
She went outside again and sat looking at flowers and people watching. Dad is ever vigilant and often anticipates her needs before she does.

Please keep the prayers coming. She doesn't feel good by a long shot. The nausea is exhausting and while on the iv nutrition it gets her up about every 1 to 1 1/2 hours so sleeping is always interupted.
We are so grateful to you all for your prayers and posts that encourage mom and dad so much. We read them to her multiple times a day sometimes and she nods and smiles at each comment in appreciation. They mean a lot to her and dad.
I wish I could adequately express her tremendous strength and determination.
What she is going through would have made me a blubbering mess. She is the strongest woman I have ever met. I marvel at her strength and dignity during this horrible post operative phase. She is such an amazing example of what it means to endure with a good heart and spirit.
Dad, thank you for being there with mom. She draws such strength from you and your steady strength, love, compassion and support. You are such a strong man. I adore you dad. You are my hero.
With a grateful heart.

I am so sorry to hear how sick your mother is! But she sounds like an amazing woman! Her sister Donna and I were best friends in school, but I didn't know Ladeva well. I am praying for your family for strength, healing, comfort and especially for your mom's stomach to wake up and work so she won't be so sick. Please give her my love and you will all stay in my prayers. Terry DeWalt Crary

DEAR SISTER DEVA & FAMILY:
TODAY IS SUNDAY. IT CAUSED ME TO
THINK OF THE SUNDAY THAT JESUS
ROSE FROM THE DEAD. ON THE DAY OF HIS DEATH THE SKY TURNED BLACK
FROM NOON UNTIL THREE O:CLOCK.
THE DISCIPLES WHO HAD HOPED THAT
JESUS WOULD BE KING WERE COMPLETELY DISALUSIONED, DISCOURAGED AND FEARFUL. THEIR
HOPES HAD VANISHED. THEY HAD LEFT
ALL TO FOLLOW JESUS BUT NOW HE
WAS DEAD.IT SEEMED THINGS COULD
NOT BE WORSE. BUT SUNDAY MORNING
CAME. WHEN THE WOMEN WENT TO THE
TUMB THEY FOUND IT EMPTY. AN
ANGEL TOLD THEM THAT JESUS WAS NOT
THERE, THAT HE HAD RISEN. BLACK
FRIDAY SEEMED SO LONG, SATURDAY
DRUG SEEMINGLY ENDLESSLY. BUT
BELOVED, SUNDAY CAME AND SORROW
CHANGED INTO JOY. IT HAPPENED,
THAT TRAGIC SLAUGTER SO THAT WE
MIGHT LIVE. NO ONE COULD KNOW
WHAT A LOVING HEAVENLY FATHER HAD PLANNED OR WHY HE CHOSE TO TURN
HIS BACK ALTHOUGH IT WAS WRITTEN
IN HIS WORD. DARK DAYS COME-
DESPAIR, PAIN AND SUFFERING SEEMS
TO BE UNABAITED, BUT BELOVED
SUNDAY'S COMMING AND EVERYTHING
WILL BE BETTER. LOOK FOR THE NEW
DAWN. I WAS THRILLED THAT THE
STOMACH WORKED, EVEN THOUGH EVER
SO WEAKLY. DEAR LORD, MAKE THE
JUICES FLOW AND THE FOOD DIGEST
IS OUR PRAYER. WATCH OVER DEVA
AS SHE FACES THE KIDNEY OPERATION.
LORD, WE SO NEED YOU TO MANIFEST
YOUR PRESENCE AND YOUR POWER. HELP
THOSE DEAR ONES TO CONTINUE TO
TRUST YOU. LOVE DINO
Sweet, dear Ladeva,
You are loved. We are believing for your complete restoration with you. I was looking at Psalm 103 this morning and wanted to share part of it:
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
I know you and lots of our friends and family have been praying. We are continuing as well. At the same time we are persistent in doing just as David did here. He had to tell his soul not to forget all of God's benefits. With every thing coming against us it is easy to lose sight of what we know. The pain and nausea, the doctor's report and what we feel at any given time is not one of God's benefits. His forgiveness, His healing, His lovingkindness and tender mercies are among those benefits. One translation say that He redeems us out of our 'own' destruction. That's like even if we did stuff that might defeat ourselves - He's quick to redeem us. And it sounds like your mouth needs satisfied with something really good. It's ours, it's yours and we're believing for all of it. You will have strength and renewal like the eagle's.
We love you moochas. As you open your mouth, breath deeply and He will fill it with all the good things Jesus has already bought for us - the things we already possess through His covenant of peace.

Hello Duckie,
It was fantastic to hear your voice. You ask for prayer to get that stomach working...you got it love. I will spread to word. I wish I knew your were trying to drink ice water. I was told to just drink room temp water and it worked immmediately. Have you tried jello and just let it melt on your tongue. You will not believe how good that taste. Did we ever think that the simple pleasures could mean so much.
Atta boy Warren, your strength is our blessing.
Start being a less than perfect patient....they only keep the ones they like. lol
God love your precious little heart, we/I love and miss you very much. I would make it better for you if I could...you know that.
Jeanzie
DEAR LADEVA:
IT WAS GOOD TO HEAR YOUR VOICE THIS MORNING I HOPE AT LEAST PART OF THE DAY WAS GOOD FOR YOU. WHEN I TALKED TO WARREN TONIGHT, HE TOLD ME HOW YOU HAD BEEN TODAY. I HOPE YOU WERE ABLE TO ENJOY YOUR COMPANY.
DALE HAD TOLD CARM THAT HE WOULD LOVE TO SEE HER ON THAT BIG TRACTOR. SO SHE CALLED AND THEY WERE WORKING A COUPLE OF MILES FROM HERE. SO WE WENT OVER. SHE LOOKS PRETTY CUTE OUT THERE WORKING. WE TOOK THEM SOME ICECREAM BARS. I HOPE SHE DIDN'T HAVE TO EAT THEM ALL.... LIKE WARREN HAD TO EAT THE CHEESE BURGERS ;)
I WILL GO FOR NOW. JUST KNOW THAT I LOVE YO SO VERY MUCH, AND YOU ARE ON MY MIND AND IN MY PRAYERS ALL DAY LONG, AND WHEN I WAKE UP IN THE NIGHT. WILL TALK TO YOU SOON.. LOVE, EDDIE
Ladeva, you are so blessed to have such a loving, caring family at your side. We love all of you. We lift you up and lay you at the feet of Jesus praying His Grace and Mercy flows abundantly through all of you as you face this difficult time. May you feel His love and watch care over you all. Gordie and Sandy
